An Alternative to Hands-On Massage

ADAPTING TO A CHANGING WORLD 

As you know, ‘hands-on’ massage has not been possible during lockdown and is still unavailable for many groups of people who are compromised. 

Lockdown provided me with an opportunity to take stock and see how I can help people through this strange time. I recognised that my hands are not my only tools – I have an extremely wide skillset, which is underutilized and that I can use to help you, using my recently published, ”The Art of Unwinding” book and posters that are all about self-help.

I can explain to you about:

  • predicable muscular pain patterns

  • Triggers points and soft tissue release

  • how to self-massage

  • how to massage others

  • Stretching and Mobility

which will calm down your nervous system, maintain your mobility and help strengthen to reduce any pain.

I am a soft tissue expert; I can show simple anatomy to help you understand where your pain is coming from as I treat you.

Alongside publishing the book, I have been busy building a portfolio of professional self-care and wellness techniques to guide, support and help you. These run alongside traditional hands-on massage, which allows me to offer much greater flexibility and availability for the care I can give to you.

With the power of technology, we can do this together, no matter where you are in the world. This gives a regular time to practice and actually ‘DO’ self-care techniques as part of either a 1-1 appointment or, as part of a focused group session; making a huge step in taking proactive control of the result.

SELF-CARE SESSIONS: WHAT’S INVOLVED? 

As usual a full assessment:

  • a review of previous appointments

  • details about your range of movement

  • where and when you feel discomfort. 

We will have a chat about how you’re feeling, what your days involve in terms of movement and then based on all of that information, we will agree what techniques and self-care would be appropriate. Then I will draw up a bespoke plan for you to follow in-between our online appointments. 

These are carried out over ZOOM or Skype, messenger or WhatsApp. 

45-minute self-care sessions are available for £40 per session.
